Error Description:
Error 48 “Unable to start/stop hardlock service with parameters 1119 1058 1.
ErrorCode: 48 5 595 1058”
Resolution:
- If the counter is a USB key then it will need to be unplugged. If the counter is uses a parallel port it does not need to be unplugged.
- Uninstall all HASP items showing up in Add/Remove Programs
- Check to see if there is a "HASP Loader" service running, if there is, stop it.
- Download the latest Command Prompt HASP driver from http://www.safenet-inc.com.
- Open Command Prompt and browse to the folder containing the hasp driver (if this is Vista/7 you may have to run Command Prompt as an Administrator).
- Remove the Driver by entering: "haspdinst.exe -fr -purge".
- Reboot Windows
- Reinstall the Driver by entering "haspdinst.exe -i -fi -kp". You should get a Successful message this time without the error.
