Frequently Asked Question:

Birth date changes when the program is launched

Answer:

The D-KEFS software requires specific date settings for proper scoring of the assessments. If you experience problems entering any dates, close the program and follow the instructions below.

REGIONAL SETTINGS
Check your system settings to ensure you are using standard U.S. date formats:

  • Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Regional Settings. (The screens may be different with different versions of Windows.)
  • The first tab for Regional Settings Properties shows the language. Check for the correct country and language (English US).
  • Click the Date tab and ensure that the Short Date Style format is set correctly. This setting must allow for MM/dd/yyyy. The Long Date Style needs to be set at MMMM dd, yyyy.
  • Make changes as needed and click Apply to save the changes.
  • Click OK and close Regional Settings.

Restart the computer

With some versions of Windows, you can change the Regional Date settings to your preferred International format. Try using your settings first and change to U.S. format if you continue to experience problems. On some networked systems the user may not have user rights to change the Display settings. Please contact your network administrator if you cannot access the Display Properties window.
