9-27-2007 21:15:06: Program `C:\DOCUME~1\Jim\LOCALS~1\Temp\{D1BF699D-1259-496A-AAF6-96AF7D0F0133}\{0363D88C-A222-4715-AE00-76AC8DB8C377}\SQLEXPR.EXE` returned an error [parameters hidden].
9-27-2007 21:15:06: Return code was 28111.
Summary.txt shows:
Server Setup cannot write system databases to c:\Program Files\Pearson\Q Local System 2\SSEE\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\, because it contains files from a previous installation. To continue, move the databases from the specified folder, or specify a different installation folder. Then run SQL Server Setup again.
Resolution:Installing Q Local 2 but it fails to install the SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
This error occurred on a computer that Q local 2 was previously installed on. It was resolved by removing the existing Q Local System 2 folder:
C:\Program Files\Pearson
Be sure to Backup the Database before deleting this folder if the End User needs the data. Also do not delete the Q Local System directory if it exists.
Once the Q local System 2 folder is deleted, delete the log files and attempt to reinstall.
