Frequently Asked Question:I cannot print to my network printer. Answer:Many 16-bit applications with printing options still require the use of an LPT1 port to properly print a document. Many users will find that these 16-bit applications do not print directly to a network printer when selected. Microsoft, by design, has disabled the ability of users to map LPT1 to a network printer. Only administrators are able to override the default mapping of LPT1 to the local parallel port and print to a network resource from legacy applications. An alternative to mapping LPT1 to a network printer is to use a freeware utility such as CutePDF. This utility creates and installs itself as a printer subsystem allowing you to create a PDF of the document you would have printed out using the printer. When the PDF is generated, you can then print it out to virtually any printer currently available. Click the link below to download CutePDF now and print your reports!
