Frequently Asked Question:

Prorating scores does not work in SAWS-A for WAIS-III

Answer:

SAWS-A is able to prorate scores based on the presence of at least five sub-test scores. The sub-test for either vocabulary or comprehension must be included, however. If you attempt to substitute the Letter/number (let#) sub test for either of these, the scores will not prorate. The letter/number sequencing sub-test can only be substituted for the digit span (digspan) sub-test for successful proration of scores. The VIQ is determined from the scores of these subtests: Vocabulary Similarities Arithmetic Digit Span Information Comprehension The PIQ is determined from the scores of these subtests: Picture Completion Digit Symbol-Coding Block Design Matrix Reasoning Picture Arrangement These 11 subtest score combine to provide the FSIQ. The above information is located on page 54 & 59 of the Administration and Scoring Manual.

The SAWS A is no longer available for purchase. Support for this software will continue for computers that fall within the parameters of the system requirements.  For a list of system requirements please see the article in this section titled “System Requirements”
