Resolution:

This error is the result of a bad installation. To install smoothly on a machine running any version of Stanford Binet- No matter what service pack windows is at. You must first disable the SQL Server service that is installed by Stanford Binet.

To disable on  Windows XP

1. Click on start
2. Click on Run
3. Type Services.msc
4. Click Open
5. Locate the service that has MSSQL as the first 5 characters in the name. These items are in alphabetical order, should be easy to find.
6. Right click on the service name in the list, then Left click on stop. (assure the customer these will turn back on through a reboot)
7. Proceed with troubleshooting, Keep in mind that if you reboot with the customer these services do turn back on, you may need to repeat this process.
